Mission

Our Goal

“The foundation strives to improve health especially in the field of orthopedics for children with severe malformations.”

Mission

The purpose of our foundation is to support the St. John Hospital in Duayaw Nkwanta in Ghana. This involves creating a safe and reliable environment and highly qualified healthcare for patients.

We are convinced that these goals can be achieved by applying evidence-based medicine, having a well-trained staff and high-quality medical and technical tools.

As a result, the core business of our Foundation is the sponsoring, advising and supervising (construction) projects and training hospital employees and potential hospital employees, both in Ghana, the Netherlands or elsewhere.

GOAL

Specialist Centre for Orthopaedics

To achieve this, a specialised centre for orthopedics has been developed as part of the St. John of God Hospital in Duayaw Nkwanta, which we support. In addition, to performe the necessary orthopedic treatments with adequate follow-up treatment, this center also serves as the first national training center for physiotherapists and orthopedic instrument makers. For the time being, orthopedic surgeons are being trained abroad. The ultimate goal is to equip the orthopedic center in such a way that it becomes a sustainable and self-reliant organization.

Local Hospital Needs

Furthermore, we meet the local needs of the hospital, ranging from surgical instruments and beds to larger projects, including construction projects.

Intensive Cooperation

There is an intensive collaboration between our Foundation, the hospital in Ghana and the MUMC+ in Maastricht.
