Biography

CAST TECHNICIAN | ST. LAURENTIUS HOSPITAL ROERMOND

Allow me to introduce myself as a new board member of the “SJHG” foundation. My name is Luc Droogmans. I am married and have two sons and one grandson. I am 65 years old and have been actively involved in development aid since 2000 through organizations such as “Doctors Without Vacation” and “On Equal Footing”.

Since 1980, I have worked as a nurse, including ten years in the emergency department, followed by my work as a cast technician. In this role, I have supported orthopedic missions in Africa, particularly in Rwanda, DR Congo, Congo-Brazzaville, and Burundi.

Within my foundation work, I participate in a working group of the “Friends of Kankala” foundation. This group focuses on the care and reintegration of street children in Kananga, DR Congo.

Thanks to Wiel Wijnen, I am now also trying to contribute within “SJHG”. Ghana is currently unfamiliar territory for me in Africa, but I am confident that my love for the African continent will certainly help me succeed.
